August Flashback

We found some pictures from August that had long been forgotten. Luke serves himself up for Benjamin's consumption.

This picture is from one of the many camp outs with the scouts that Spencer went on during the summer.
At the end of August Spencer went down to Sacramento to help with the National Weather Service's Science on a Sphere exhibit at the California state fair. The kids and I went down the next day and went to the fair. Here are the boys enduring the sweltering heat. It was humid and over 100. Yuck.

We escaped the heat in the air conditioned building where Spencer was working.

This is the Science on a Sphere sphere. After we left Spencer did a presentation using weather information...because he did so well, especially considering that he is a hydrologist and not a meteorologist like the others that presented, Spencer received a $250 cash reward for his excellence.

This is my favorite part of any state fair, the livestock. The farmers were getting their animal ready for the judging.
The boys each chose a ride to ride. It looks like Luke is suffering the early stages of heat stroke in these pictures. It really was unbearable.

Spencer chose to ride the dragon ride. He was the only kid on the entire ride. Fun!
After the fair we took a day to drive to Utah. Here is Spencer at Mom and Dad Higginson's helping cut down a tree with a chainsaw.
